JERMAINE SUTTON
Jermaine Sutton is the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of J2 Sutton Capital Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and licensed freight brokerage and government contracting consulting firm built on the discipline, accountability, and service commitment he developed over 25+ years in the United States Army. His military career began as an enlisted Logistics Soldier before he was commissioned as an Army Signal Officer — a path that gave him both a ground-level understanding of operational support and the technical leadership expertise that defined his career as an officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Sutton completed four combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, serving as a Cavalry Squadron S6 and with the 4th Infantry Division, as a Division G6, and as a Signal Company Commander at the Major level with the 1st Infantry Division. He served as a NATO officer with NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy and deployed to ISAF Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan — bringing allied force communication and network coordination experience that few officers accumulate. He later commanded the 52d Strategic Signal Battalion in Stuttgart, Germany, leading one of the Army’s premier strategic communications units.
Additional assignments included the Space and Missile Defense Command, the 1st Cyber Protection Brigade, instructor duty at the Command & General Staff College, and service as an Army Staff Officer at the Pentagon — where he managed programs valued in excess of $200M. That breadth of experience — from the tactical edge to the strategic level, from combat operations to Pentagon staff work — is the foundation J2SCG is built on.
Since retiring from the Army, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Sutton has served for five years as a Senior Account Executive and Business Development and Capture Manager in the government contracting space — building a $2B+ Army IT pursuit pipeline and contributing to contract wins totaling more than $400M for small business clients across multiple Army program offices.

DR. JENNIFER SUTTON
Dr. Jennifer Sutton is the President and Co-Owner of J2 Sutton Capital Group LLC, a Virginia-based freight brokerage built on reliability, transparency, and sound risk management. She brings a rare combination of legal expertise, behavioral science, and operational discipline to the business — credentials that directly strengthen how J2SCG vets carriers, negotiates contracts, and protects its shipper partners.
Dr. Sutton holds a Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Criminology and is currently a 2L law student. She spent over 15 years in the legal field as a legal assistant and paralegal, developing deep expertise in contracts, compliance, and dispute resolution. That legal foundation shapes J2SCG’s operational standards in concrete ways: carrier vetting and contract negotiation informed by her legal background, fraud and risk screening sharpened by her criminology expertise, and shipper-carrier relationships strengthened by her understanding of behavior and negotiation.
